Exams taken as microcredit programmes cannot continue

Last Sunday (24th Nov.) our PSC (Primary School Certificate Exams) were completed. All of the learners of class five were able to complete those exams. Now they are waiting for their results and we wish them all the best.

The other five classes (Pre-Primary to class four) are going on regularly. The four Teachers are very sincere and committed and always try to help the children.

Nijera Shikhi Officers Niranjan Sarkar and Mostafizar Rahman went to Jessore  (Abhoynagar thana) and Satkhira (Kalaroa thana) to visit the work going on there. However, due to a lack of funds the Micro credit programmes at the centres there has had to close, following the decision of the Nijera Shikhi’s Board.  At present the Monirampur Branch at Jessore is the only microcredit programme to function.

The microcredit programme is a life saver for many rural communities – savings are collected in tiny amounts from group members, and then drawn out for families to start small businesses, such as animal husbandry, weaving or handicrafts, to name but a few. Could you help these very poor people by giving a regular donation to Nijera Shikhi?
